What does it mean to be more embodied?
How do body-centred practices help us get there?
If you've ever had questions like these, this workshop series is for you!
In three afternoons, we will be exploring why breath, touch and movement are the foundation of an effective somatic practice. We will draw upon two resources: the insights of leading edge somatic thinkers, and the biological science that forms the foundation of identity, expression, and the limitations of trauma and habit.
You will get a taste of this vast and fascinating field of knowledge. Matthew Van der Geissen has been teaching these workshops for decades. They have a reputation for being fun and profound—not a bad combination!
Each day will give you insights into how you function by applying somatic principles and biological science. Each idea will be explored through practices from breath, touch and movement traditions. We will integrate these through deepening the experience your particular embodiment practice.
