This workshop is for those who are looking to deepen their understanding of anatomy, learn how to alleviate physical pain, and maximize their potential. The course is especially beneficial for yoga teachers, chiropractors, bodyworkers, trainers, movement teachers, patients and students of life.
Yoga teachers are at the forefront of healthcare. With this trusted position comes a great responsibility to understand anatomy as it pertains to the yoga practice. In this training, Dr. Mike Lane will cover functional anatomy and therapeutic movement patterns from head to toe. Dr. Mike makes “AnatomySense” in a fun and digestible way through visual concepts, movement and palpation. You will leave with a greater sense of connection to your body.
Foundation Training (FT) is a safe and effective therapeutic movement system created to help you change the movement patterns that might be hurting you. Foundation Training focuses on strengthening the posterior chain - the back side of your body - and improving posture. FT also helps heal back pain, plantar fasciitis, sciatica, IT band syndrome, and other chronic posture-related aches and pains. At the core of this movement technique is breathwork and anchoring to decompress and stabilize the body. Gravity is constantly pushing down on our bodies and the way we hold ourselves in response to this can create compression and pain. Retraining how you breathe and where you send your breath makes huge changes not only in overall lung capacity, but also in how you move and feel in your body. FT is an incredible complement to any workout regime and can be incorporated easily into your daily life. Learn more about Foundation Training here.
This 13 hour course can be used as Continuing Education hours for Yoga Alliance Registered yoga teachers.
